Proposal – Infinite cycles of trees (immersive version)

Below are artist impressions for a new outdoor artwork. The images were created using a mix of AI and editing software. The work is in prototype stage: it consists of an infinite mirror-room that people can enter to find themselves surrounded by falling leaves, frozen in time.

The work can be available for touring indoors or outdoors, and its ideal setting could either be in a forest or woodland area/ park or by contrast a colder urban environment. The leaves in the installation would ideally be leaves collected from the surrounding area, and so the installation will change every time that it is presented.

The room is an ultra-modern black box, like a portal, with a delicately carved traditional wooden door, inviting visitors to open it.

The work reminds us of the beautiful and endless cycles of the life of trees and forests, in which fallen leaves become an ecosystem for a range of species which in turn provide nutrients for new trees to thrive. In the work, the cycle has been frozen in time, reminding us of the fragile nature of these endangered environments .
