Laurence Payot will be creating one of her first Living Sculpture experiment as part of Live Collision 2014.
Using the decade of commemoration of Irish Independence as a starting point, the work will explore the collective memories and hopes for the future of Dublin.
What are today’s symbols of Dublin’s collective (un)consciousness?
What connects us together, what makes us feel like we belong?
Can our shared history and memories help us shape a better future?
On Saturday 26 April, hundreds of people are invited to gather and become one collective body, carrying a fragile and giant hand around the streets of Dublin. At time folded, passing through small alleyways, or breathing in the wind – coming to life, the gesture and its meanings constantly reshaped by its inhabitants… will they find a place for it to open and rise?
From dawn to dusk, join us on the streets of Dublin, become the work, hear and share stories of togetherness.
