Laurence Payot has been awarded an artist in residence at the University of York with C2D2 (Wellcome Trust funded) to devise an interactive virtual sculpture to be transformed live by 2 participants in different geographical locations.

A metaphor for symbiosis, between participants, but also between participants and the virtual sculpture that will grow out of their hands, the work will explore our connections with each other in an online world.

A skilfull team of people took part in an initial design session  including Dr Mark Wright – Director of FactLAB, Laura Turner – Senior Curator at York Art Gallery, Dr Ambrose Field – Composer, Sandra Pauletto – Interactive Sound and Physics and director of C2D2, Ewan Minter  and Jamie Wood – Biologists.
